Monsanto is seeking a Senior Metabolomics Scientist to join its global analytics group in St. Louis, MO.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and innovative analytics team that contributes to the discovery, development, and commercial success of new agricultural products.
Using his/her expertise in plant metabolism and biochemistry, the Senior Metabolomics Scientist will interact with colleagues in Breeding, Biotechnology and Regulatory to identify experimental strategies for metabolite analysis to support of the advancement of Monsanto's product pipeline.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of advanced analytical tools for the analysis of components in complex matrices such as grain, feed, food and plant material.
This will include the use of targeted and non-targeted analytical strategies for the detection and quantitation of small molecules.
A Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or Plant Physiology with 2 or more years of experience in a research environment.
Knowledge of plant metabolic pathways and experience with advanced analytical tools such as LC/MS, GC/MS and NMR.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of plant metabolism and experience with analytical tools that can be applied to advance products in Monsanto's discovery and development pipeline.
A results-oriented scientist who is effective working in a multi-disciplinary team environment is ideal. The creative and innovative Scientist will have experience in applying knowledge of analytical techniques to drive insights into plant metabolism and physiology.
