Refridgerated Solvent Condenser Enhances Vacuum Concentrator Performance
Date Posted: Thursday, February 01, 2007
Genevac has launched a second-generation version of its Speed Trap refrigerated solvent condenser for vacuum concentrators.
According to Genevac, designed to improve the performance of any vacuum concentration system, the new Speed Trap uses fluoropolymer components that can provide enhanced solvent resistance and a high safety plastic coated solvent collection vessel.
The Speed Trap features a cooled condenser coil, which is efficient, compared to traditional evaporator condenser. The cold condenser coils are suspended directly in the vapour path; solvent vapours condense directly on to the coils and run off into the collection vessel below without freezing, even when using water.
Users of the Speed Trap can see the solvents in the trap, and emptying is simple, requiring no defrosting. The plastic coated collection vessel is removed with a simple quarter turn, allowing users to safely empty the cold trap.
