Senior PLC Electrical or Electronic Technician

An exciting new venture that will be controlled through a distributed control system is almost at completion. The control system will use PLC subsystems to manage the sequence control of complex equipment and the protection of equipment through interlocks. The control systems group is responsible for the design; implementation and maintenance of the overall system together with the PLC based subsystem.

You will hold and HND or HNC or equivalent qualification in electrical/electronic engineering. A good understanding of the operation and interfacing of PLC’s and of the design and development of PLC software. Knowledge of temperature and water monitoring field devices along with the implementation and application would be a distinct advantage together with the ability to use AutoCAD to produce electrical drawings.

You must be self-motivated with a ‘hands on’ approach and be prepared to take ownership of problems. You will be results driven with the ability to develop and follow written procedures complying with operational requirements. Knowledge of communication protocols (RS232/422/285) and experience of faultfinding. Proven experience of managing outside contracts, experience with electronic digital and analogue systems, electrical design experience using AutoCAD.
