Principal Mechanical Engineer is required to take the lead role in planning, proposal generation, liaison with clients and hands on technology development and new product commercialisation. You will also use your strong technical skills to make a significant contribution to projects throughout the development process and to participate in consultancy within biotechnology & pharmaceutical clients. You will have an excellent 1st degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline & 5+ years industrial experience in instrument systems development. Strong abilities with 3D CAD, Pro/ENGINEER & SolidWorks. Experience of development/layout of advanced optical systems; design for manufacture and assembly for low and mid-volume products; sensor- based products in healthcare of life sciences; opto-mechanical layout design; low volume fluidic systems; automated handling of high volume disposable products and components; development within a regulatory framework. Projects are in 3 focus areas: Medical diagnostics and instrumentation; surgical products and medical systems and Drug delivery devices. Your highly creative lateral thinking combined with excellent technical skills & broad base of industry experience will ensure completion of this powerful development team.
