Biography

Dr. John J. Isbell spent some time working with the Kassel group at the former Combichem, Inc, learning Prep LCMS and efficient approaches parallel techniques, particularly in regard to analytical and preparative LC/MS.  In 2002, he joined the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation as Head of Analytical Chemistry and was charged with, among other things, implementing technologies to support purification of 100,000 compounds per year.  Following this success, his responsibilities increased to include the Compound Management Group, and, most recently, the ADME group.  The focus in the latter groups has been to automate where appropriate while not sacrificing quality for throughput.
