The Strategic Marketing Specialist will be dedicated to supporting the effect marketing of life sciences mass spectrometry hardware and software products into the metabolism and metabolomics markets. This position is responsible for presenting the division's products and services as a comprehensive, integrated offering, appropriately packaged with other appropriate Thermo products for applications in metabolomics/metabolism.
This position will work closely with the LSMS product hardware marketing teams to produce sales collateral as well as product and application specific pieces for tactical MarCom activities such as ads, mailers, PR, etc.
This position will also work closely with the technical Service staff to ensure that service offerings are effectively featured and supported. Key responsibilities will include Interfacing with LSMS Product Line groups and their product staff to ensure integrated MS products and hardware for metabolism/metabolomics applications.

How to apply:

This individual will work with external vendors as necessary to support metabolomics/metabolism and will also work with MarCom and Product groups to develop effective, complete marketing plans and tactics for the metabolomics market.
Developing and maintaining external collaborations, such as key customers and third party vendors will be required.
Providing input for the development of MarCom pieces to effectively promote products, capabilities, and total solutions, including sales collateral, ad & mailer development, product announcements, technical articles published, sales tools, technical web content, etc. in a timely manner will be a large part of this role.

We require a Ph.D. degree in science (chemistry, physics or related discipline); marketing education or experience is a plus. We would like to see demonstrated technical/scientific knowledge in the life sciences area and the ability to relate independent offerings to a comprehensive, application or market oriented solution; includes familiarity/fluency with liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry in order to understand and successfully communicate these capabilities both internally and externally. We require a high comfort level interacting and discussing how products are used with customers. We are looking for a candidate with internal (project management, preferably multi-project management) LC-MS experience in metabolomics and/or metabolism and someone who has hands-on experience with product launches. The ability to work effectively and influence others in a matrixed environment while maintaining a high level of intensity is a must. Demonstrated oral & written communications and interpersonal/relationship skills - particularly intercultural skills; strong customer orientation is required. 30% travel will be required.
