My Client is a highly regarded energy technology company focussed on the development of nanoporous materials and next generation power source devices for energy storage, energy efficiency and low carbon emission applications.

They are seeking a Process Development Manager to lead and develop the Company’s growing process development activity. This will involve building a small team focussed on scaling up the Company’s unique processes for fabricating nanomaterials from the lab scale, and improving the consistency of these processes.

The successful candidate will be degree qualified in chemistry or chemical engineering. It is not essential that the candidate has direct experience in the synthesis of nanomaterials but an excellent knowledge of general chemical processes is required. Candidates from the pharmaceutical or chemicals industry are appropriate. Experience of working with design of experiment methodologies is desirable. Experience in scaling-up chemical processes as opposed to improvement/development of already scaled-up processes is also a requirement. Management or team leadership experience will be required for this role as the successful candidate will be required to recruit and manage a team of between three and six scientists/technicians.

My Client is looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to take on this role. The candidate will work in a dynamic environment with constant interaction with the business’ development and manufacturing groups.

In order to attract and retain the right candidate, the position offers a competitive remuneration package including basic salary, health/life insurance contribution, pension and share options.

Remuneration Package Details:

  • base salary of up to £50,000 (depending on experience)
  • health/life insurance contribution of 2.5 % of base salary (paid with salary)
  • pension contribution of 5 % into a scheme of the candidate’s choice
  • share options would be issued after 6 months with the Company on a discretionary basis.

The Process Development Manager will report directly to the Technical Manager.

This is a full-time permanent position.
