Sometimes, the greatest leaps of advancement can only be made by changing the rules. According to Milestone, the new UltraCLAVE removes the limitations of standard microwave lab stations by combining direct microwave heating in a high pressure reactor which acts simultaneously as the microwave cavity and reaction vessel. This allows for larger sample masses, larger batch sizes, and higher temperatures and pressures.
